Quandamooka Festival

The Quandamooka Festival is an annual event that takes place around the Redlands and Southern Moreton Bay islands region.  Celebrating culture, country & people, the festival is a unique opportunity for people to learn about the region that makes up Redlands and Moreton Bay islands, including the amazing culture of the First Nation's people who have occupied the region for thousands of years.

From July through to September, up to 55 events will take place in the area, including: 

  • cultural tours
  • whale watching
  • art exhibitions
  • workshops
  • traditional song, dance and music performances
  • Welcome to Country smoking ceremonies
  • outdoor film nights
  • markets & food
  • sporting events
  • sailing regattas
  • story-telling and poetry
  • kids sand sculpture competition
  • Quandamooka Land & Sea discovery days
  • bush tucker dining experiences

 NAIDOC Kunjiel Fun Day

 

The NAIDOC Kunjiel Family Fun Day will be held this Saturday 22 July 2017 as part of the annual Quandamooka Festival.  The Fun Day will showcase Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander dancers, arts and crafts, information stalls, food and drink and a range of fun activities suitable for all ages.  Bundarra will also be present on the day with some special offers and giveaways! 

Wynnum based group Winnam have teamed up with the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation to host this amazing event, which will be held at the Wynnum Wading Pool on the Wynnum foreshore from 10am until around 8pm.  Bring your family and friends, this event isn't one to be missed!
